Listen to music you found on the concrete
Ignore the scratches on the surface
And let it all play away.
Sip from the broken mugs,
The jagged edges kiss you.
Softer, you spill the drink,
It’s okay, clean it up.
You didn’t know it mattered
When you made all that clatter
But know you’re in trouble, now.
For shame, you woke the neighbors up.
Maybe someday, someone will stop
Throwing their music away
And you’ll stop breaking coffee mugs,
(they make great gifts)
So it will be quiet again
And you’ll make some friends
Other than the frowns of your
Cranky, woke-up neighbors.
Until then, ignore the scratches on the surface
And let it all play away.
