Hungover Breakfast

The muffins steamed hot on the plate
Waiting to be made breakfast food,
But last night he was drunk and home too late
to be considered anything but crude.

She would not give him the baking
While he was still hungover; shaking,
But maybe if he sobered up
He would get some coffee in his cup.
