I rivered into the house,
Quiet as a brook.
I avoided all the creeks,
Clever as a crook.
I climbed up the stairs,
Steady as a salmon,
I hurried into bed
So tired and frightened.
No drink, no story
Tucked in after glory,
I shrank and I withered
Because I knew
They just ignored me.
