No one ever told me I can’t
So I assume that I will.
I have been told that I won’t,
But I do, so I prevail.
Sometimes I say I will
And then I don’t.
But I didn’t fail,
Because I am my own will.
If I would have I would have,
Without other insight.
Unless someone tells me I won’t,
After they know that I don’t,
Then perhaps it’s time to change,
But only to shock, surprise,
Or rise above lowered expectations.
I will when I have to if I don’t,
And that is adaptability.
